Hello World
Why I am starting this blog — what it is, what it isn't, and what I hope to do with it.
This is the first post.
I’m starting this blog to write down the things I think about long enough that they’re worth writing down — mostly around IT, AI, investing, politics, movies, and whatever else refuses to stay inside one category.
What this is
- A thinking outlet. I write to think. If a post changes my mind, it worked.
- Cross-posted. Longer pieces will also appear on Substack, and the comments live there.
- Slow. I’d rather publish less and mean more.
What this isn’t
- A newsletter-as-a-product. I’m not optimizing for subscriber counts.
- A hot-take feed. If I can’t hold an opinion for a week, it’s not worth publishing.
- A portfolio. The code, the day job, and the essays are separate things on purpose.
Where to start
As of today there are two real posts to read:
- The Future of AI — part 1 on how AI is reshaping the make-or-buy and software-vs-hardware lines.
- 12 Mistakes Every Investor Makes According to Warren Buffett — a working list.
More to come. If any of this is useful to you, that’s the whole point.
Discussion
This post isn’t on Substack or LinkedIn yet — if you have thoughts, email is the best way to reach me.
